Sebastiaan van Herk

Sebastiaan van Herk is a senior consultant at B&W with a broad experience of defining, executing and coordinating national and international R&D and new business development projects, mainly in industries related to construction, environment, or water. From 2005 he is an expert representative for Spain on Urban Flood Management in the COST C22 action.

He previously gained valuable experience in the construction industry through working in the R&D and new business development departments at HILTI AG (Liechtenstein) and Dura Vermeer Group (Holland), respectively.

Sebastiaan holds an MSc degree (with honours) in systems engineering and policy analysis from Delft University of Technology, combined with studies in industrial engineering at the UPC Barcelona and economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Since 2007 he is carrying out a part time PhD at TU Delft on process design and management for Urban Flood Risk Management, supervised by prof. dr. ir. Zevenbergen. Sebastiaan van Herk speaks English, Spanish, German, Dutch and Catalan fluently.
